Pay the IRS Online!

Paying taxes may never be fun, but it has just become a little easier since the launch of the new IRS Direct Pay system, which allows you to pay your individual federal income taxes or make estimated tax payments online. No fee or pre-registration is required, and the system provides instant confirmation that your payment has been made. It’s a good option if you’re behind schedule and are concerned about a late payment notice or if you’re looking for a quicker  alternative to regular mail.

If you do pay quarterly estimated taxes, here’s a quick reminder on their due dates: The first installment for current year taxes is due on April 15, then there are three subsequent payments due this year on June 16, September 15 and January 15. These payments are required if you are a sole proprietor, partner, S corporation shareholder or self-employed and expect to owe at least $1,000 in taxes this year (or $500 or more if you’re filing as a corporation). Be sure to contact us if you have questions about tax payments or for solutions to all your financial questions.
